Paladins rescue
Description : Barton wakes up in an unknown cell.
Modifying scene set-up : (4) -> interrupted scene
(48) Move away from thread 2 (33) stop (56) wishes
Interpretation : the convoy of (10) cultists is intercepted by a group of paladin who doesn’t like this kind of individuals.
Barton wakes up semi conscious in the rear of the cart. Hands and feet tied, his head is covered. He tries to gather information of where he is. Barton recognizes the voice of the cultist who slain him but can’t make sense of the conversation. He fell unconscious. Wake up again thirsty, the sun really high in the sky from the light piercing the thread of the hood. The lack of motion and people babbling make him worry.
- “People coming”
- “Yes, (6) cavaliers”
- “Who are they ?”
- “I think knights with Squires”
- “Hmmmm worse, look at the symbol (42), their are Paladin from the Order Of The Queen”
- “This damned Queen Fayre” says the leader
After few minutes the mounts stop close to the cart . A deep and loud voice ask :
- “What is your business here ?”
- “Nothing, Nothing, we are heading back to our temple”- “To worship your devil insanity”
- “...” The leader wants to says something but judging the situation he stays quiet
- “People like you are always plotting something when you are outside, What is in your cart ?”
- “Nothing.”
- “SHOW ME”
Barton heard the sound of a blade.
- “By the orders of the Queen explain to me why this injured man is tied in your cart or my blade will give justice.”
- “It’s a thief and murdered. He kills 2 of us and injured Bromley here” (Deception 5)
- “Always hard to believe you can be the victim. I order you to free this man”
Is the leader going to free Barton ? (cf6 50/50 - 70 - N)
- “By the power of karzakur we don’t have to obey you. You will join his realm soon”

Are the paladins going to win ? (cf6 likely - 42 - Y)
Are they making some prisoners ? (cf6 very unlikely - 48 - N)
Quickly the fight turns to the advantage of the paladins but the cultists were fierce and exalted by the shouting and spells of their leader. The sound and rage of the battle settle down.
Someone climbs in the cart and remove the hood. Barton cannot handle the bright light and goes into a foetal position to protect his eyes.
- “Don’t be afraid stranger you are now under my protection. Who are you ? What is your story ? .. ”
- “Water… Water”
- “Sorry, I miss at my obligation. We can talk later”
They sanctified the place and buried the cultist corpse.
They took the cart to transport the wounded Barton. After some healing, water and food , Barton tell how he confronts the cult.
- “You seem to be a good man, I am Lane Windsev from the .It’s a lucky day you came across our patch. I am bringing you to the Order of the Queen quarter where you can rest and heal.”
Is the cult have a chance to find what happen here ? (cf6 very unlikely - 26 - Y)
